Mikasa has been supporting the FIVB Volleyball Cooperation Programme which has been the essence of this development cooperation since 1989. The main objectives are to generate permanent development impact and to ensure that volleyball and beach volleyball take firm roots within countries and regions that many would think impossible.
The Haiti Volleyball Federation (HVF) began their quest to establish a youth and junior team at a FIVB Volleyball Cooperation Programme on February 22nd, 2012, with the ultimate aim of qualifying for the FIVB Volleyball Youth and Junior World Championships 2013.
The course began last Friday with 53 participants and these were whittled down to 16 players in each category (men’s and women’s junior and girls’ and boys’ youth) after two-and-a-half days of training.
